I still believe in Christmas but I don’t believe in Jesus
I have doubts about the trinity and whether God was ever kind
For like the flawed protagonist I only welcome science
For its beauty and its molecules they offer pleasure to my mind

And if Mary was the Mother and the angel the infiltrator
Does that make Joseph weaker to bring up another mans child
And if the kings were kind to bring him gifts they would have been much kinder
If they’d found a decent hotel and not been so meek and mild

And was it really wise to bring animals into the birthing chamber
Did the shepherds not consider this was not a healthy choice
And why did Joseph and Mary travel so far just to do a census
When the next day they had to flee advised by an angels voice
