All the Time (Vocals)

Vocals for All the Time remix. Stems are dry.
My intention was to do an instrumental for Dig the Soundtrack, but as I started combing through source material, opening myself up to inspiration, this song emerged. It is a re-working of a song I wrote several years ago, but the sentiment feels even more urgent now, as the multi-level crisises in which we find ourselves seem to be accelerating.
Over the past year or so, there have been times when I have been literally flattened by what is going on in the world around me: the corruption, destruction, and unconscious way in which so many people interact with each other and the world has impacted me in profoundly, often leaving me despondent and confused. I have chosen to deal with my feelings of despair and futility by turning outside of myself, and finding ways to be of service. I have started small, but am finding the more I make myself available to new practices that nurture rather than harm my environment (here I am using the term “environment” broadly to encompass the physical, psychological, and spiritual, the collective, the earth, and the small space that my personal and professional life inhabits).
My teachers have encouraged me to “be the change.” I am trying. And I hope I can offer that same encouragement to others.
ALL THE TIME
You’re locked in denial so you can’t see your intentions are tired and you’re suffering from misunderstanding about what you need — you’re just so comfortable compromising
You say, “Give me some time, give me some time, give me some time to remember my dreams”
All the time
All the time in the world
All the time in the world is now
You dropped your ideals as to heavy to bear
You married a life you life without care
But we’re here to remind you,
We breathe the same air — it’s not yours along, it’s a burden we share
You say, “Give me some time — give me some time to remember my dreams”
All the time
All the time in the world
All the time in the world is now
This is not what I was looking for, but this is what I found
I was looking up, but my body was feeling down
I was called to the river — feeling was the sound
This is not what I was looking for, but this is what I found
All the time
All the time in the world
All the time in the world is now
You can start small — as long as you start something
You can stand tall - as long as you start something
Open your heart to know how the world is — don’t be dissuaded by imposters and cynics
The world you aspire to — be the change, live it
Now is the time to rearrange it — schema, structure, the misuse of power
Now is the time, the day, the hour
Start it up with kindness, love, compassion — the integration of sacred action
Now is the time
Now is the time
Now is the time, all the time in the world
