Silence

Silence is a strange and curious thing,
A absence of sound, a stillness that rings.
It can be found in the calm of the night,
Or in the hush of a forest in flight.
It can be a comfort, a shelter from noise,
A respite from chatter, a chance to enjoy
The peace that it brings, the tranquility found
In the quiet of the moment, unbroken, unbound.
But silence can also be deafening, a weight on the ears,
A reminder of loss, of doubts, of fears.
It can be a curse, a prison that holds,
A cage of the mind, a story not told.
Yet even in silence, there is a voice,
A whisper, a song, a joy, a choice.
For even in the stillness, there is a way
To find hope, to love, to live, to play.
So let the silence speak, let it be heard,
For in its embrace, we may find a word,
A message, a truth, a light in the dark,
A path to follow, a new work of art.
