A Foolish Rain (Extended Mix)
Whitewolf
* Update: I’ve remastered this tune, bringing the beats forward a little and adjusted the stereo effects and volume levels on my instruments. Thank you for the comments!
I have been wanting to work with Ivan Chew’s Rains on Everything (sung by Minwen) for quite awhile now, and I had so many ideas floating around (no pun intended) in my head, but a classical version wasn’t one of them (with a hip-hop beat, no less…), until I was working on my Secret Mixter tune… then it hit me, smack dab in the face.
The key I picked for this tune was Am, since that seemed to fit the vocal. The loops I liked best all seemed to be at 90 bpm, so I ended up slowing the vocals down to that from *gasp a whopping 130 bpm. Once I starting arranging the music to something more or less coherent, the vocal fit wonderfully well. It was at the last minute that I decided there was something missing, so I decided I wanted another female to balance things out. I had used Snowflake’s wonderful pell A Foolish Game in a previous project, and thought it would work well, since she has a complimentary vocal range, though I also had to slow that pell down from 100 bpm to 90 (no big stretch).
This is the end result, a little rough perhaps, but a wonderful diversion from the Secret Mixter while I try to come up with something cool to do my draw justice.
Enjoy!
