i dropped the song, and it shattered
artemisstrong
A song of fragility, a tribute to negative space. I took a simple approach technically, relying on very short slices taken from gurdonark’s samples, with different effects and pans and filters applied to them to make them flow in and out and around each other, like the reverberating echoes of music in the next room that vibrate and tickle your skin as you press your ear up to get a better listen.
The vocals emanate from the center, vaporous little wispy bursts of voice, and some words escape here and there, sparsely defining, vaguely describing, minimally parsing the song. “An obscure moment defining an obscure world.” (Charlie Kaufman)
