MLK, Talk To Me !
calypsotiger
This remix is about speaking up against war and oppression. It contains excerpts from Martin Luther King’s speech delivered on April 4, 1967: Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence.
Didn’t have much time to work on the remix, just added a melody that was playin’ in my head, some soundz, fx, a loop stolen from DJ Vadim’s original (oops!), and vinyl samples from freesounds:
- needle bounce, by FreqMan
- pucr.wav, by Andrew Duke

The brutal end of the song is intended to evoke MLK’s tragic death, exactly one year after he delivered this speech.
I couldn’t find out if this speech is public domain, but I just had to put it in this remix : “a time comes when silence is betrayal.”
