Gotta Wake Up
copperhead
CCmixter is such an amazing place when you think about it. If WolfFly never posted Where You Are Now, this song would not exist. If you played both for someone that doesn’t know about CCmixter they would say how is that possible lol?
Unreal did the first version of this and Zap did his thing to it.
I asked Zapac if he could upload his files for Where You Are Now and he obliged and even sent me his midi files. I downloaded unreal-dm’s guitar parts and I was off.
When I brought all the files in I moved the piano and 1/8 to the left without knowing because I truncate the silence of the tracks. So things were off a bit and ii was ahead of the beat and it was interesting. So I started editing all the files changing notes and what not. I didn’t play any instruments on this but I did do roughly 28 hours of editing.
When I first heard Zap’s version, I thought a vocal I had in a song might just fit. The tempo was 40 Bpm faster. With the magic of Protools time stretching I was able to make it work.
Michael Higgins vocals, Unreal-dm guitars, Zapac piano , strings, fx and plucked strings, Norm Peterson bass.
