Love That Slumbers

So this one is kind of cool. I was working in an online bookstore and we stumbled across this badly damaged late 1800s book of sheet music for popular songs. The book is rare enough that I literally couldn’t find any citation for it other than a contemporaneous newspaper ad. I got together and recorded my friend Lewis (who’s quite a good singer) performing one song from it, written by Milton Wellings. There was no accompaniment written for it, sadly.
Incidentally, a lot of the music in this book has never been recorded or performed, as far as I can tell, and it’s all in the public domain. I’ve photographed about half of it (it’s very hard to do without damaging the pages), and I would happily share with anyone who wanted to try their hand at another song from it.
