In the midst of a relocation, small in distance, but large in scope, I can’t help but enjoy Speck’s wry observations on holiday consumer frenzy, and his refusal to play it musically safe; everywhere now are the pop artist’s cynical recordings of Xmas muzak (guaranteed yearly royalties, it’s just good business, dontcha know).. there’s much to love about this time of year, but a lot to get your Grinch on about, too… so, if that’s you, don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself thinking “Because we’re stupid, and it will always be same”!
