What began 15 years ago at the now defunct Realworld Remixed endures. I was randomly assigned to remix the work of my friend and mentor and I could not have been happier. In the beginning I knew absolutely nothing, and now I had enough confidence to try and extend a classically inspired work with purely musical elements. I am grateful beyond words for the growth I have experienced.

As I am preparing to upload my mix I am listening to a conversation with theoretical physicist Brian Greene. He is one of those scientists who are very serious about their science and also have a gift for taking what they are learning to a broader public. One of the things he has said is that we, as human beings, are nothing more than bags of particles that happen to be organized in a certain way. While this on its face makes us and everything we hold dear seem meaningless, he says for him personally it is the exact opposite. The moment, and everything in it, is ever more important because it happens at all. Remember, every hour is magic.
