Our Spring fades into a drought-laden sunshine, marking the end of our Texas Spring flowers. Now the yellow Summer flowers appear. North Texas has a wealth in blooms.

The various forms of daisy continue to bloom and thrive in the hottest sun. I like the “simple” flowers—often overlooked—which just grow where they are planted and bloom where conditions permit. Here I imagine them as entertainers in a circus or a carnival—full of color, eager to grow and bloom in the giant spotlight.
