This was kind of a sound-art performance piece. I wanted to create a piece where all the creativity was in the process, not the end result. I feel we lose touch with creativity sometimes when we think too much about the bottom line.

I took a single note from sangiano’s fantastic cello recording, loaded into all eight slots of Live 5’s drum sampler, each one played back at a different note.

I then created a 2 bar patterm with exactly 16 notes in it. Throughout the piece, these notes were moved around in real time as I was recording, creating a series of non-repeating melodies. Atmosphere was then added and the playback was sped up.
