My Roots
jaspertine
I had some stuff on my mind this week, and it made me want to get back in touch with my own musical roots. In this case, lofi alt-rock.
The bass and rhythm guitar ate up enough time that the solo didn’t get as much attention. It’s kinda sloppy, but that fits the genre, I think.
( link the vod when it goes live)
I have a distinct memory of being in high school and discovering a little band called Eric’s Trip, so named after the Sonic Youth song. Their debut album was recorded at home, using consumer grade equipment, and I was like “wait, you can DO that? You can just MAKE the record yourself? On whatever gear you have?”
It didn’t matter that the music sounded like it was recorded in the shallow end of a bathtub, the songs came through regardless.
