Rise Up To Heaven
spinningmerkaba
I recorded this track featuring Joe’s uploads in the spring of this year, but chose not to release it because I could not find my voice and it got too frustrating to work on it anymore.
Though I had written words and had arranged the parts into a song, I decided that it was not ready to release.
Today, when I heard the song again thinking of Joe, I was sad, and I was a bit shocked. As I listened to the words, I realized they had taken on a completely different meaning than I had intended.
Lyrics:
I’m going to make my
great escape to a place where
nobody knows
I’ll grab my coat
and leave a note saying
“I don’t know when I’ll be home”
Cuz I believe in
the things I’m dreaming
I know that I’m not alone
Feeling like the world is gone
Feeling a new day has begun
Feeling like my time has come
Feeling like I’ll rise up to heaven
I’m going to make my great escape
to a place where nobody knows
strike at the root
burn my suits
Cuz I know that I’m going home
Sometimes connections can’t be explained, they just are. ccMixter makes these kind of connections through music, and I am grateful that I knew Joe in this way.
Thanks Fireproof! You ROCK!
