Rest
Malcolm Lovett
Question - Ecclesiastes 3:9
What does the worker gain from his toil?
Answer - Matthew 11:28
Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest
my father worked for 50 plus years
he persevered through blood sweat and tears
while allowing his hopes to overpower his fears
my father and mother had children that they had to raise
and so my father worked for money
instead of accolades and praise
as a result, his offspring are experiencing better days
my father paved the way to make life easier
and I appreciate it a lot
I remember Moses saw the promised land
but never personally inhabited the spot
and I know MLK had a dream
but he never once met President Barack
my father worked hard
and over time he earned some loot
more importantly
Jesus made sure that he bore much fruit
and now, may we all stand together
and on the count of three salute
my father
and especially
my Heavenly Father
