My title comes partly from a comment snowflake made about how samples and such can be treated like sonic paint by dabblers like me; of course Pantone 292 is the shade of blue referred to by Magnetic Fields in their adorable song “Reno Dakota” — couldn’t resist.

A couple of cube3’s samples reminded me of the great Angelo Badalamenti, so this remix serves as a memorial and a metaphor.
