Kakoi

I think I heard Javolenus’ jazzy little riff in something of debbizo’s. I went back to the source. As soon as I downloaded it was begging me to jam with it on my shakuhachi. Like Kooler than Kobe, I did the two shak parts in just two takes (although I did edit out a few bum notes afterwards – and left a few in so it still sounds live!)
The percussion is just two fingers tapping on the built-in mikes of my Macbook using the Garageband vocal filter called “Deeper Voice” which adds a bit of reverb & drops it a few octaves. Plus finger clicks.
I’m not entirely happy with the bass. My bass is in Adelaide, South Australia and my fingers are in Himeji, Japan, so I borrowed an acoustic guitar from school and played on the lowest three strings and put it through the Deeper Voice filter. There’s a time-lag which I find annoying. I’m sure one of you can do better. ccmixter isn’t about uploading completed productions anyway, is it? Please improve!
