I love the quirky little piece Tokyo Street by airtone. It’s been sitting on my computer for months & every now & then I add another little bit of shakuhachi to give the calypso rhythms a bit more Japanese flavor. The only thing that didn’t sit well with me was the title. No Tokyo street I’ve ever visited is as quiet & gentle as this music suggests! So I’ve taken the liberty of renaming it in honor of the much-smaller city that we’re living in. The tune is deliberately loose & maybe even occasionally slightly discordant because this embodies Himeji – sometimes slightly out of place or time – but always friendly and irresistible!
