sparrow in an airport (ft. Jeris)
robwalkerpoet
I have a soft spot for this one – it was the title-poem of my first collection back in 2005. I haven’t bothered to upload before since it’s so short – but Jeris’ short piece is perfect for it and I was able to add a little shakuhachi as well (available as a separate stem if you can use it for your project.)
sparrow in an airport.
it’s a kind of freedom
apparently having all you want
more than enough space
for one small sparrow
crumbs from McDonalds
controlled climate
yet you keep hitting glass
that invisible force separates
you and sky
flapping frustration
caged in a monument to flight
from sparrow in an airport
