Dont go wasting my time

A nod to Sha’s luscious Janet Jacksonesque vocal, so I’m winding the clock back to the early 90’s.
Dusted off the old 808 and plugged in the DX7 for a quick walk down memory lane.
Hope you like
EQ and mastering edit UPDATE:
Having not mastered and eq’d old real 808 sounds for a while I played the original mix in my car stereo and it nearly shook the doors off at 150 -250 Mhz with more mud than a dirty old river.
Back to EQ school for me. The 808 kick and bass was the problem and how it was interacting with the compressor and limiter on the master bus.
I re-routed this chain with a notch down at 150Mhz and reframed the convoler plugin on the master bus (a convoler is a reverb type effect that models a room and adds a touch of nice mud).
I also forced most of the bottom end of the bass to mono to limit the stereo phasing down low that was playing with Sha’s tone.
I’ve left the first master in the uploads in case any of you mastering boffins would like to comment.
The whole experience has re taught me how to mix analog sounds in a digital environment, something thats easy to forget when you work in the digital box.
