Happy Birthday Addy!

Adilyn, my sweet niece, asked me to write a song for her birthday. It’s been challenging to write, but I’ve enjoyed the push.

I interviewed Addy twice and learned a lot of great things about her. She loves chocolate. Her favorite song is Year Without Rain and her favorite book is I Can Read with My Eyes Shut by Dr. Seuss.

Rebecca Cannon suggested I write a song ‘Go To Girls’ for our young girls. (Thanks Rebecca!)

I started humming the original melody over SassyGal’s KISSING and emailed her and asked her for the stems - she and Scomber graciously supplied them, only after I’d already adapted the melody to Alex Beroza’s track. Alex is amazing, and I’m so grateful he put up his instrumental!

I’m happy for SassyGal’s stems, as I have 10 nieces, and I’m getting ready to work on the next one. I have a feeling I’ll be writing a lot of these young-girl-friendly songs in the next year. :)
