Oh My Antonia
Subliminal
Some time ago Anchor asked me to add some lush orchestrations to O(h) My Antonia. I guess he mistook my few lucky shots in that direction for competence, for in the end I was unable to honour his request. One reason was that the song was already perfect the way it was. Just his vocals/lyrics and The3amAssociation’s piano piece.
However, eventually I did add a few bits and pieces here and there, mostly to fill the gaps where Anchor wasn’t singing. Furthermore, as it turned out, my arrangement differed slightly from what Anchor himself came up with. And for the finishing touch I added Ruggea’s Where Earth Meets Sea.
Anyway, this should probably be filed under Anchor’s profile, because my involvement is kept to a minimum. But if it exposes more people to the original idea then it has served its purpose.
