Funk You

What the Funk?
As an exercise in trying out more of the samples in our project studio library, grabbed some rock drums and synth bass samples to use as a base for remix. Added repiques and timba percussion.
Found a flute sample that worked. Then forgot about the exercise and went on to other things.
Later, looking at Dig the Soundtrack pells found SmoJos’ Funk You. Very nice! Decided to see if the vocal could be integrated with the rock drum, synth bass, Latin percussion track. After some pitch victimization, a weird remix was born.
Added little sax and some ElRon guitar run through an Amplitube 4 model of a Fender ‘65 Deluxe with an outboard chorus, echo and delay (like a 1960s psychedelic party gig in the basement of frat house).
As a funk song, this remix truly sounds like the worst :0)
