Remix of Snowflake for February ’12 Leap of the Heart.

Since I’ve backed Snowflake’s vocals with my own instrumental parts in remixes before, I wanted to do something different having her as an assignment. After listening to practically all of her instrumental stems, I became really entranced by the chord progressions in several of her piano tracks - really moving stuff.

I was relatively certain that I was going to use her reading of Debbizo’s Baptism. After I sequenced several segments from various piano tracks into a story around the reading, I then filled out the remix out with vox and instrumental tracks from other uploads. Finally, I layered some of my own percussion in, and then mirrored the lines in some of her underlying chords to get specific melodies to pop. I may need to revisit the final mix (finished it on headphones late at night!).
