Points of Departure (4/4: Percussion)
Bruce H. McCosar
Percussion track to “Points of Departure”, the eighth song (and title track) from my recent Jamendo album.
There are only four tracks in this release series:
1. Bass
2. Guitar
3. Piano
4. Percussion (made with Renoise)
This song is meant to serve as a complement to “The Wind of Distant Planets.” Where the seventh song had a very busy sonic space, this one is comparatively open.
The beat on this tune is actually a clave pattern. When you hear the percussion track alone, it’s easy to pick out. The alternating sections of the song switch from 3:2 to 2:3 via a “linking bar”, an odd measure that buffers between the sections.
